What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to strategic planning, self-discipline, curiosity, and a willingness to start before feeling “fully ready.” By showing up consistently, learning relentlessly, and trusting my long-term vision, I’ve been able to advance from the Illinois Department of Transportation to managing complex construction projects in St. Louis, all while developing ScripID, a mobile subscription service that delivers pharmacy and wellness products to those facing accessibility challenges. Balancing motherhood, full-time work, and entrepreneurship has taught me that persistence, continuous learning, and solving real-world problems are at the heart of meaningful success.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to believe I belong in both construction and business, and to pursue opportunities with confidence—guidance from mentors who taught me leadership, communication, and how to navigate the industry has been invaluable.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering this industry to take risks, ask questions, seek mentorship, and start before they feel completely ready, knowing that confidence comes from experience, not perfection.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field are navigating fast-paced construction timelines, changing market conditions, and regulatory hurdles, while the greatest opportunities lie in innovation, sustainability, inclusive infrastructure, and health-tech solutions like ScripID that meet critical community needs.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value integrity, accountability, empathy, and making a meaningful impact, believing that my work—whether in construction or health-tech—should improve people’s lives. In my personal life, I enjoy traveling, staying active, attending cultural events, and exploring new experiences with my family, while continuously learning about wellness, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
