About Jennifer
Jennifer Perez is an experienced retail and operations leader with more than 25 years in the beauty industry. She began her career in salons and later promoted makeup brands before taking on her current role as store manager at Sally Beauty, where she has served for 8 years. In this position, she runs daily business operations at a high-revenue location in California, focusing on customer service, sales growth, team development, and inventory management, particularly serving the local Hispanic community. Jennifer also acts as a brand ambassador and co-leads the company's Hispanic Employee Resource Group, where she advances diversity, inclusion, mentorship, and employee engagement. Her educational background includes graduating from cosmetology vocational school in Puerto Rico and obtaining her cosmetology license, as well as pursuing paralegal studies at a college in Puerto Rico. She speaks Spanish and English and is learning Japanese. Outside her role, she supports a women's refuge for human trafficking survivors through company initiatives spanning about 4 years.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Be myself, trust yourself, be you. Sometimes people don't want to express the way they are because they are afraid that they won't be accepted.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Go to school, learn what you're doing, do it with passion, be sure that you love what you do, get involved, put it in practice, feel confident, be adaptive to new trends, communication is key.
