Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the mentors and colleagues who believed in me, opened doors, and gave me opportunities to grow in an industry that has traditionally been challenging for women. Their guidance, encouragement, and willingness to invest in my development have shaped both my career and my leadership approach. I also believe that hard work, perseverance, and building genuine relationships have been essential to my success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to always be ready to listen. Listening allows you to understand people, identify opportunities, solve problems more effectively, and build trust. I've found that some of the most valuable lessons and strongest relationships begin by simply taking the time to hear others.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be true to yourself and never feel like you need to change who you are to succeed. Build authentic, long-lasting relationships, lead with integrity, and support those around you. Your reputation and the trust you earn throughout your career will become some of your greatest assets.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The commercial banking industry continues to navigate market uncertainty, economic shifts, and ongoing bank acquisitions, all of which create significant challenges. At the same time, I see tremendous opportunity. These changes allow us to welcome talented professionals looking for stability and purpose while continuing to build relationship-focused teams that prioritize exceptional service for our clients and communities.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are meeting people where they are, listening with empathy, and recognizing that everyone is on their own unique journey. I strive to lead with compassion, respect, and authenticity, believing that meaningful relationships are built by understanding others and supporting them through both their challenges and successes.
