Jerica S. is an accomplished retail leader with over a decade of experience in managing high-performing store operations. She is currently a Store Manager and One Academy Coach for Express, where she has worked for the past four years following a ten-year tenure at Forever 21. In her dual role, Jerica oversees daily store operations while also training new store managers for the brand. Her approach is hands-on and strategic, combining operational excellence with leadership development to ensure both her store and the managers she trains achieve exceptional results. As a One Academy Coach, Jerica leads new store managers through an intensive three-week program two weeks at her store for immersive training, followed by personalized, on-site coaching at their assigned locations. She focuses on acclimating managers to the brand, understanding their individual learning styles, instilling a deep knowledge of company values, and empowering them to break records in their stores. Jerica’s expertise lies in talent development: she is passionate about growing people, stretching them to their full potential, and promoting high-performing team members into store manager and associate manager roles. What do you attribute your success to?
I would say I attribute my success to my upbringing my mom was a single parent and always went above and beyond for me ensuring that I had the best and teaching me the value of hardwork and dedication. Also the support of my amazing husband who encourages me daily and family and many influential people who really nurtured my career and pushed me out of my comfort zone .

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would give the advice to first learn the brand and there value. Take time to earn the respect of your team , set clear expectations all while building a strong accountable team. People development with expand you as a leader . Set attainable goals with action plans. Take the time to train in the moment stay curious and empower others.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter the most to me are integrity ,accountability, and consistency. These values guide how I lead ,how I work with others, and how I handle challenges . They help me stay focused, build strong relationships , and consistency to drive results.
