Jessica Budgett Bacon, DSL, is a seasoned human services professional and entrepreneur with a remarkable blend of military, community service, and business experience. She served a 20-year career in the U.S. Army, where she gained expertise in logistics, inventory management, and leadership—skills that laid the foundation for her transition into business ownership. Following her military service, Jessica continued to serve her community as a Community Work Incentives Coordinator and in various nonprofit roles, supporting individuals with disabilities and older adults while honing her project management and operational skills. In January 2024, Jessica embarked on her entrepreneurial journey by launching a thrift store, The Watchman’s Closet LLC, which later expanded to a brick-and-mortar location in September 2025. Her store offers affordable, sustainable, new, and pre-loved items, reflecting her commitment to accessible commerce and community support. On a day-to-day basis, Jessica balances her roles as a business owner, homeschool teacher for her son, and graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Christian apologetics, managing operations from Wednesday through Saturday while maintaining a well-rounded lifestyle. Jessica’s most notable achievement is her distinguished military career, which instilled discipline, resilience, and operational expertise that continue to inform her business and personal endeavors. Outside of work, she treasures her church, family, and cold-weather retreats to Tennessee, enjoys singing gospel music, and finds relaxation in watching The Walking Dead. Describing herself as simple, relaxed, and a lifelong learner, Jessica embodies a commitment to service, community, and personal growth.
