There was a time in my life when simply showing up felt like a victory.

From the outside, everything may have looked “fine.” But internally, it felt heavy. It felt dark. It felt like I had lost a part of myself.

And yet… I showed up.

Not because I felt strong—but because I didn’t have another option.

Looking back now, I realize something I couldn’t see then:

That was strength.

We often think strength looks like confidence, energy, and certainty. But sometimes, strength looks like getting out of bed when you don’t feel like it. It looks like showing up when your mind is full of doubt. It looks like continuing… even when everything inside you wants to stop.

If you’re in that place right now—where you feel like there’s more darkness than light, but you still choose to show up…

I want you to know this: you are stronger than you think.

Because here’s the truth:

If you are capable of showing up on the days you feel like you can’t even get out of bed… then you are capable of so much more than you’re giving yourself credit for.

You are capable of change. You are capable of growth. You are capable of creating a shift in your life.

But that shift doesn’t happen by staying in the same space you’ve become accustomed to.

Growth begins when you allow yourself to explore something different—when you give yourself permission to step outside of what feels familiar, even if it’s uncomfortable.

Not your “comfort zone”… but the space you’ve learned to survive in.

And you might be wondering… “How can I even start making a shift when I don’t feel like getting out of bed?”

That’s a fair question. Trust me—I asked myself that same question many times.

But the turning point for me wasn’t finding the answer… it was asking a better question:

👉 “Do I really deserve to feel like this every day?”

And my answer was always the same: no.

Not because I had everything figured out… but because deep down, I knew I deserved better.

The problem was—I had become used to feeling that way. Used to thinking less of myself. Used to living in a cycle of negative, destructive thoughts.

Until one day, I decided:

“This is enough. I don’t know how… but I will find a way.”

That’s when everything began to shift.

Not because my life suddenly changed overnight—but because my questions changed.

Instead of focusing on what I couldn’t do, I started asking:

If I can show up for others… how can I show up for myself?

What is one small thing I can do today—just for me—even if it’s only 10 minutes?

Because here’s the truth:

👉 Your mind will always look for answers to the questions you ask it.

So when you start asking better questions… you begin to receive better answers.

And little by little, you start stepping out of that destructive cycle and into a more constructive, empowering one.

During that time, my therapist told me something I will never forget:

1. “You already know you deserve better. You will find your way—at your own time.”

That reminded me of three things:

I did deserve to feel better,

I was capable of creating that change,

and it was okay to go at my own pace.

1. “The lessons will continue to repeat until you learn them.”

That one opened my eyes.

I began to notice the patterns I was repeating—the same thoughts, the same behaviors, the same emotional cycles…

and therefore, the same results.

Because, as you probably already know… doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results leads nowhere.

Nothing changes—until you do.

Sometimes, we become so used to our pain that it starts to feel normal.

But what’s really happening is this:

You’re digging yourself into a deeper hole—not because you want to… but because it’s familiar.

And every time you try to climb out and see a glimpse of something new… fear pulls you back in.

That’s exactly what was happening to me—until I got tired of that hole.

Tired of what it was doing to me. Tired of feeling stuck.

So little by little… I started climbing out.

Even with fear. Even without knowing what was next.

And what I found on the outside?

Light. Opportunities. Growth. Life.

So, if you’re in that place right now, I want to tell you this:

👉 Allow yourself to explore the unknown.

👉 Ask yourself better questions.

👉 Interrupt negative thoughts—and replace them with constructive ones.

You don’t need to have all the answers right now—because you won’t.

But if you are strong enough to show up for others…

You are strong enough to show up for yourself.

And this… is the beginning of your self-love journey.

Because choosing yourself—even in the smallest way—is where everything starts to change.
