About Jocelyn
Jocelyn Mitchell serves as Audit Manager at Zimmer Biomet, where she leads a team responsible for executing, scheduling, and reconciling hundreds of annual inventory cycle counts. In this role, she oversees audit integrity by reviewing and closing high-volume discrepancies, serves as the primary point of contact for external auditors, and drives improvements to audit systems through testing and cross-functional collaboration. With 24 years of experience in orthopedics and in areas such as manufacturing, customer service, inventory management, and field audits she has built her career on developing efficient processes and cultivating strong working relationships internationally, with the field and distributor teams. Before stepping into her current position, Jocelyn held a series of progressively responsible roles within Zimmer Biomet, including Inventory Control Supervisor and Senior Inventory Control Coordinator, where she redesigned reporting tools, streamlined workflows, and strengthened data accuracy across the organization. Her earlier background in billing operations and customer service gave her a strong foundation in problem-solving and relationship management, skills she continues to draw on as she mentors her direct reports and works to expand opportunities for those around her. She most recently completed her Bachelor of Business Administration at Indiana Institute of Technology, building on an associate's degree and two certifications in marketing and human resources that support her managerial work. Jocelyn is guided by a deep commitment to equality and fairness, striving to treat every person with the same respect regardless of personal opinion or circumstance. A member of the Women Inspired Network, she is passionate about encouraging other women to pursue leadership roles in a field that remains largely male-dominated, urging them to persevere and stay true to their own ambitions. In recognition of her leadership and contributions to her field, Jocelyn was selected to be featured in Influential Women for 2026, representing Warsaw, Indiana.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jocelyn
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having ADHD, which keeps me from settling and constantly pushes me to seek new challenges. That need to stay engaged and keep learning is what fuels my forward momentum and keeps me moving toward the next goal.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
If your dreams don’t scare you, then they aren’t big enough!
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to push forward and pursue your dreams, because they belong to you and no one else. This industry is largely male-dominated, and it can be difficult for women, but that shouldn't stop you from going after what you know you're meant to do.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is proving that women can lead effectively and overcoming the stigmas that come with that. The opportunity lies in staying steady and persevering — not letting difficult moments derail your progress, but continuing to push through and keep moving forward.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Equality and fairness matter most to me, both at work and in my personal life. I try to treat everyone the same regardless of how I may personally feel about a situation, and I hold myself to a simple standard: if I wouldn't say something to my own mother, I shouldn't say it to anyone else.
