About Johana
Johana Fadragas is the owner and founder of Paper Hearts LLC, a government contracting company located in Ocala, Florida. She entered the field approximately two years ago after initially planning to start a surplus funds recovery business. Inspired by a YouTube video about government contracting opportunities, she registered Paper Hearts LLC on SAM.gov and quickly secured a $250,000 five-year contract to provide fire extinguisher inspections and recertifications for the Davis and Hoover Dams. She has since been awarded the third year of that contract. As a prime contractor, Fadragas subcontracts the work, allowing her company to pursue opportunities across multiple sectors including facility support and pest control. She is a minority-owned and woman-owned business currently obtaining certifications through the SBA to access set-aside contracts. Previously employed by a large corporation while obtaining her Florida life, health, and annuities license, Fadragas now focuses on expanding with a team of advisors to secure three to four additional contracts in the coming year. Outside of her professional work, she volunteers with Gentiva Hospice.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Lose the fear. Sometimes we can be our worst critics and our worst enemy. You know, the lies that we tell ourselves, the doubts that we allow to enter our minds, and they paralyze us from ever trying to do anything great. And you just never know how far you can go until you try. When things get overwhelming, just do the next thing. One step at a time, we'll get you there.
