Q

What do you attribute your success to?

My team and my coworkers over the years. My husband and my family.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was from my grandfather. Never give an answer to a question, always take time to think about it before you decide.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Have patience and tolerance. It doesn't happen overnight. You have to work 100 times harder to build a clientele, but the reward will be worth it. Many will give up within those first few years, and it's a lot of sacrifice to build that clientele. Wear good shoes. And don't look at an older woman sitting in your chair as an old lady. Look at her as a woman who has been through so much, and has so much knowledge to share, and just listen. She is the best education you will ever have.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge today is keeping up with an ever-changing industry. I would say that's the false information on social media and AI is also challenging in our industry, especially with our younger stylists. Every day there's something new out there.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In work, it is the quality of work we put out for our customers and making sure they're always happy to our best ability. In home, it is the health and wellness and support of our family.
