Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a strong foundation of integrity, strategic planning, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. With a proactive mindset, I approach every endeavor with clarity and purpose-guided by research, goal setting, and a drive to exceed expectations.

I embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, never settling for mediocrity and always striving for continuous improvement.

I rely on evidence over hearsay, ensuring my decisions are informed and grounded in truth. Additionally, I am deeply grateful for the financial and emotional support of my mother, and above all, the grace and miracles of the Almighty God, whose guidance has carried me through every season.

Together, these values and supports have empowered me to overcome hurdles, evolve professionally, and become a success story defined not just by achievements, but by a transformative journey of growth, perseverance, and principled leadership.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came in an unexpected form - a skeptical remark questioning "whether I could ever become a lawyer?". While it wasn’t intended as encouragement, it became a powerful motivator. That moment taught me that doubt from others can be transformed into determination. Instead of allowing negativity to discourage me, I used it as fuel to stay focused, work harder, and remain committed to my goals. Over time, I not only achieved what was once questioned, but I also grew stronger, more resilient, and more confident in my path. That experience reminded me that belief in oneself, paired with perseverance, can turn even the most doubtful moments into defining victories.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Construction and contract management are dynamic, detail-driven fields that demand "professionalism, focus, and dedication". My advice to young women entering this industry is "to embrace it with genuine interest and passion". Loving what you do will not only make the work more fulfilling, but it will also inspire you to stay curious, committed, and driven to make meaningful contributions.

Success in this space comes "from education, experience, mastering the details, staying organized, and showing up with confidence and purpose".

My further advice would be "Don’t be afraid to speak up, ask questions, and take initiative. Your voice and perspective are valuable. With resilience, continuous learning, and a strong sense of self, you can thrive and lead in this industry".

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the most significant challenges in contract management within the construction industry is ensuring that Project Executives fully understand and appreciate the risks associated with contractual obligations. Communicating these risks effectively requires not only technical expertise but also strategic insight and diplomacy.
Another key challenge is maintaining the use of sound negotiation techniques to secure fair, balanced, and industry-standard terms that are acceptable to all parties. In a fast-paced and high-stakes environment like construction, it's essential to sign agreements that protect the interests of the company while fostering collaborative relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

In terms of opportunities there's a growing recognition across the industry that effective contract review and management can significantly impact the bottom line. Companies are becoming more appreciative of the value that skilled contract professionals bring-not just in mitigating risk, but in driving operational efficiency and financial performance. As a result, the demand for experienced Contract Managers continues to rise, presenting exciting opportunities for those who are detail-oriented, strategic, and passionate about the field.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me both professionally and personally are decency, trust, integrity, inclusion, teamwork and respect. I believe that building strong relationships-whether with colleagues, clients, or loved ones-starts with being honest, dependable, and treating others with dignity.

I prioritize inclusion, ensuring that all perspectives are welcomed and valued in every space I’m part of.

Teamwork is also essential to success. I thrive in collaborative environments where respect, mutual support, and shared goals drive meaningful outcomes.

These values not only shape how I work but also reflect how I choose to live-with purpose, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.
