About Kaprice
Kaprice Patrick is a motivated professional and aspiring legal professional currently pursuing her Paralegal degree at Tarrant County College. She is in her second semester of the program and is building a foundation for a future career in the legal field. Alongside her studies, she serves as a College Mentor, where she supports students in reaching their academic and career goals. Her mentoring responsibilities include helping students develop study and behavioral skills and connecting them with essential resources related to food, housing, clothing, and mental health support.
Prior to entering her current educational and mentoring role, Kaprice developed extensive experience in customer service, retention, administrative support, and team leadership. Her professional background includes serving as a Retention Specialist at Metronet, a Customer Service Representative at F. H. Cann & Associates, Inc., and a Supervisor at Intuit. These roles strengthened her communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, organizational, leadership, and relationship-management skills. She also holds certifications in phlebotomy and supply chain management and completed a Supply Chain Management certification through Google Career Certificates. She has additionally participated in Merit America's Supply Chain Planning program.
Kaprice is committed to personal growth, education, and creating opportunities for herself and others. As a first-generation college student, she views her education and career development as part of her effort to break generational cycles of poverty and create a stronger future. She serves as Treasurer of her school's Black Student Union and volunteers with nonprofits supporting underprivileged children. Her professional philosophy is grounded in communication, integrity, consistency, and reliability, while her advice to others emphasizes perseverance, self-belief, and remaining open to growth at every stage of life.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my willingness and drive to succeed. As a first-generation college student, I am determined to create opportunities for myself and break generational cycles of poverty and limited opportunity within my family. That determination continues to motivate me to pursue my education, develop professionally, and build a better future.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is that I am never too old to grow, learn, make mistakes, and correct them. Age does not determine whether I have failed or succeeded. Sometimes an opportunity simply is not my time yet, and I believe it is important to continue learning and moving forward rather than allowing setbacks to define my future.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women not to allow other people's opinions to define who they are or what they are capable of accomplishing. I believe you can pursue what you want, in the way that works for you, regardless of how difficult the journey may be or how much time it takes. I would encourage the next generation to remain determined, trust themselves, and never allow discouragement from others to prevent them from pursuing their career or life goals.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the challenges I face is working in a traditionally male-dominated environment where women may have to work harder to have their contributions recognized and their voices heard. At the same time, I see opportunities to gain valuable experience through areas such as student conduct, where I can develop a deeper understanding of policies, procedures, and how to accomplish objectives while remaining compliant with established rules and standards.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Communication, integrity, consistency, and reliability are the values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life. I believe effective communication helps build strong relationships, while integrity, consistency, and reliability establish trust and demonstrate that others can depend on me.
