What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the way I think. I strive to maintain a positive mindset in any setting, make sound decisions without rushing, and lead with logic rather than emotion. I focus on connecting with people authentically rather than just networking, and I value active listening and mentorship as essential parts of my growth.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Make sure you're connecting with people, not just networking. Be an active listener and get a mentor.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women in pest control to persevere even in a male-dominated field. It’s important to stay confident, learn thoroughly, and trust your abilities. Don’t let others’ judgments define your potential.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is being judged as a woman in a male-dominated industry. Competition from other companies is also a challenge. At the same time, my expertise in termite pest control and the ability to give back to the community—such as providing no-cost pest control to senior citizens in extenuating circumstances—present meaningful opportunities.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family, communication, and self-care are central to my life. I value connecting with people authentically and giving back to my community, supporting organizations like the United Way, the Queen-preneurs Plan, and Dillon Dogs for Diabetes. I also enjoy being in nature, reading scripture and teaching it, exploring business insights from Fortune 500 books, and listening to all types of music.
