Her Story

About Katherine

I work for BrightEdge Technologies as a Senior Customer Success Manager for the Enterprise team, a position I've held for 7 years. I've been in the enterprise SEO, AI search, and client lifecycle management industry for 13 years total. My work focuses on helping clients gain organic visibility on the internet by using large data sets to inspire data-driven decision-making on how to optimize their websites. I work with clients globally, including across Europe and Asia. One of my most notable achievements has been working with HPE for all 7 years I've been with BrightEdge, helping grow that business and contributing to their recent win of our Edgy Award for excellence in global search performance. I'm currently at an exciting point of transition in my career, exploring opportunities in AI, cloud co-work, and Microsoft co-pilot spaces. I'm also planning to start a business with my sister, and I'm excited to tap into networks of other professional women, especially those who are founders and entrepreneurs. After taking time to have my three daughters, I'm ready to refocus on my next step and next venture.

Ten minutes with Katherine

01What do you attribute your success to?

I keep hearing a lot, especially as a mother, that it takes a village, and where you've gotten to in life, you usually have a lot of people along the way to be thankful for. I have a wonderful family that is very good at pushing me and helping me be brave. I think it takes a lot of bravery to stand up for yourself in the workplace, especially as a woman, and so I think my success thus far is being my best advocate, advocating for myself in a lot of situations that were maybe challenging to say I was the right person for the job. Being brave enough to stand up in meetings, I attribute to help from my family.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If you are young, something that I think I took advantage of, but I wish I had taken more advantage of, was finding mentorship. Don't be afraid to reach out when you're entering your career to someone that you aspire to build a career like, and just ask them how they did it, what they needed to do to get to where they are at. It does take a lot of bravery to be able to reach out to people you look up to, but it's so valuable. I think mentorship and being brave enough to reach out and establish mentorship young is a great decision for a career.
