Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kathryn

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to always putting my clients first and maintaining a strong work ethic throughout my career. For more than 45 years, I have focused on educating and supporting people rather than simply selling insurance products. Building long-term relationships and helping clients through difficult health situations has always been my priority. I believe genuine care, honesty, and dedication are the foundation of lasting success. My clients have always been the heart of my business.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

"If you don't keep your face in front of me I will forget who you are"

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Based on the current direction of the insurance industry, I would encourage young women to carefully evaluate the career path before entering traditional insurance sales. With declining commissions and increasing challenges for independent agents, I believe consulting offers greater long-term opportunities. If you choose this field, focus on becoming a trusted advisor rather than simply selling products. Build your expertise, educate your clients, and always prioritize their needs. Long-term relationships will always be more valuable than short-term sales.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in today's insurance industry is the continued reduction in commissions and the growing pressure placed on independent agents. These changes make it increasingly difficult for professionals to sustain a traditional insurance practice. However, there are opportunities for those who position themselves as trusted consultants and educators. Clients continue to need experienced professionals who can help them navigate increasingly complex healthcare options. Providing personalized guidance remains one of the greatest opportunities in the industry.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Helping others has always been the most important value in both my career and personal life. I believe in being hands-on, building genuine relationships, and supporting clients through some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Integrity, compassion, perseverance, and service guide every decision I make. I am also passionate about mentoring young women to become financially independent and giving back through organizations that strengthen our communities. Making a meaningful difference in people's lives is what continues to motivate me every day.
