Her Story

About Kathy

Kathy Jebelli Maghbouleh is an entrepreneur, investor, and business operator who serves as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Queen’s Home, a boutique residential senior-care organization in Orange County, California. Founded in 2016, Queen’s Home provides personalized care in residential settings designed to emphasize dignity, safety, comfort, and meaningful human connection. Kathy oversees the organization’s strategic direction, daily operations, business development, regulatory compliance, team development, and expansion. Her experience in senior care includes developing multiple residential homes and serving older adults and their families, including individuals who require assisted living, memory care, medication management, and personal support.

With a broad entrepreneurial background, Kathy has built businesses across several industries, including senior care, food manufacturing, wholesale distribution, retail, hospitality, and events. She acquired Sunflour Bakery and transformed it into a successful kosher wholesale bakery supplying major retailers throughout California before selling the business. She later founded Queen’s Bakery and Cafe, developing its brand, customer experience, marketing, events, and operations. Her career reflects a willingness to enter unfamiliar industries, learn from the ground up, recognize business opportunities, and take calculated risks. She also holds a Certified Administrator of Assisted Living for the Elderly credential from the Institute for Professional Care Education.

Beyond business operations, Kathy is developing her work as an author and speaker, drawing inspiration from the experiences and life stories of the older adults she has encountered through her work. She hopes to share these insights with wider audiences and encourage others to pursue meaningful goals without waiting for perfect circumstances. Kathy attributes her success to hard work, recognizing opportunities, and the courage to take action. She encourages young women to embrace learning, seek help when needed, accept setbacks as part of growth, and keep moving forward. Guided by honesty, authenticity, hard work, and dignity, she remains committed to building sustainable businesses while creating environments and experiences that make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kathy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work and my willingness to recognize opportunities and take calculated risks. Throughout my career, I have been open to entering unfamiliar industries, learning from experience, and turning ideas into viable businesses. I believe that being willing to take action, adapt, and learn along the way has helped me build businesses and continue reinventing myself professionally.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to believe in myself, trust my instincts, and never allow fear or lack of experience to stop me from pursuing an opportunity.

Throughout my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve learned that you don’t have to know everything before you begin. You need the courage to take the first step, the curiosity to keep learning, and the determination to figure things out along the way.

Success doesn't always belong to the most educated or experienced person in the room. Sometimes, it belongs to the one who has the courage to begin.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women is to understand that you do not have to be perfect at everything to succeed. Recognize your strengths, and do not be afraid to seek out people who can teach you or take on tasks that are outside your expertise. Keep moving forward, accept that failure can be part of the journey, and learn from your experiences.

I also encourage women to learn through action rather than overanalyzing every situation. You do not need to have every answer before you begin. Be willing to take risks, adapt when things do not go as planned, and continue working toward your goals. Sometimes, the path to success becomes clearer only after you take the first step.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest challenges in senior living today is balancing rising operational costs, workforce shortages, and increasing regulatory requirements while maintaining exceptional, personalized care.

However, I see tremendous opportunity. As our population ages, the demand for high-quality, residential senior care continues to grow. I believe the future belongs to innovative, boutique-style communities that offer more than traditional assisted living—places where seniors feel valued, respected, and truly at home.

Through Queen’s Home, I've spent the past decade demonstrating that senior care can combine compassion, hospitality, beautiful environments, and strong business practices.

I also see significant opportunities in technology, strategic partnerships, and programs that make quality care accessible to more families.

My vision is not simply to grow a business, but to help elevate the standards of an entire industry.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are honesty, hard work, authenticity, and dignity. I believe in being genuine in my relationships and business dealings, working diligently toward my goals, and treating people with respect. I also believe that success should never require compromising my morals or sacrificing the dignity of others. These values guide how I make decisions, lead my business, and approach the people I work with and care for.
