Her Interview
Ten minutes with Katie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my connection with the community and my passion for helping others overcome their fears. As a competitive shooter and certified firearms instructor, I saw how many women felt nervous or intimidated when learning about firearms, and I wanted to help them build confidence, develop skills, and recognize what they are truly capable of achieving. What started as a personal passion grew into a purpose-driven business focused on empowering women through education, training, and support. My entrepreneurial background also gave me the confidence and experience to build something of my own, but the real driving force has been seeing the impact on the women I work with. Through one-on-one training, classroom instruction, range experiences, concealed carry courses, and a growing women’s shooting community, I’ve been able to create a welcoming environment where women feel comfortable learning and gaining confidence.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't wait until you're confident. Do it anyway. Confidence comes after you take the first step, not before. That's been true in my career, my business, and honestly, my life.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Safety, integrity, and perseverance are probably the values that guide me most. I want the people I work with to feel respected, supported, and never judged for where they’re starting. Personally, I value continuing to grow, pushing through fear, and making time for the things that keep me grounded, like shooting, hiking, and spending time with my family and my dog.
