About Katrina
Katrina is an accounting professional specializing in bookkeeping, financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable, month-end and year-end closeouts, and fractional CFO services. She combines technical expertise with a passion for helping business owners understand their finances, improve profitability, and make informed business decisions.
After earning her accounting degree in 2013, Katrina built a successful career supporting businesses across a wide range of industries. During her time with a public accounting firm, she managed a portfolio of more than 30 clients while leading a team of five accountants responsible for approximately 115 businesses. In addition to overseeing bookkeeping operations, she provided strategic financial guidance, reviewed complex accounting work, and helped clients strengthen their financial processes and long-term success.
Like many professionals, Katrina's career has included unexpected challenges. Following a recent career transition, she chose to view the experience as an opportunity for growth and reflection. That chapter reinforced her belief that resilience, adaptability, and perseverance are essential qualities for both personal and professional success.
As a single mother of two, Katrina understands the value of hard work, determination, and leading by example. Although she earned a Medical Assisting certification in 2023 while raising her children, she ultimately realized that her true passion was in accounting and helping businesses achieve financial success.
Katrina is especially passionate about improving financial literacy among entrepreneurs, particularly women-owned businesses. She believes many small business owners have the talent and drive to succeed but often lack access to practical financial education. Her goal is to help business owners gain confidence in their financial decisions, build sustainable businesses, and create lasting success through sound financial management.
Katrina credits her family as her greatest source of motivation and believes that success is built on integrity, continuous learning, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities. She encourages other women to trust their abilities, advocate for themselves, and never allow setbacks to define their future.

Ten minutes with Katrina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience. Life and career don't always go according to plan, but I've learned that setbacks often become opportunities for growth. As a single mother and entrepreneur, I've relied on determination, faith in myself, and the support of those who believed in me. Every challenge has made me stronger and reinforced the importance of hard work, honesty, and perseverance.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to go for it and not be afraid of the unknown. It is easy to become comfortable in a role or career path simply because it feels familiar, even when it may not align with what you truly love. Taking a leap requires courage, but growth often comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone and trusting yourself. I believe in continuing to move forward, embracing new opportunities, and never stopping my pursuit of personal and professional growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never underestimate your value or be afraid to advocate for yourself. Build a strong foundation by learning the technical skills, but don't stop there, develop your communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities as well. Those are the skills that truly set you apart.
Find mentors, ask questions, and never let the fear of making mistakes keep you from growing. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn. Most importantly, remember that confidence comes from preparation and experience. Trust yourself, continue investing in your knowledge, and don't be afraid to pursue leadership roles or even start your own business. There is room for more women at every table, and your perspective has value.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I believe the biggest challenge right now is that many small business owners are overwhelmed. Between inflation, changing tax regulations, new technology, and the day-to-day demands of running a business, bookkeeping and financial planning often get pushed aside.
The opportunity is to change the way accounting is viewed. Instead of being someone clients only hear from during tax season, accountants can become trusted advisors who help business owners understand their numbers, make informed decisions, and confidently grow their businesses. I believe accounting is about more than managing finances—it's about building relationships, providing guidance, and empowering business owners to achieve long-term success.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, accountability, and compassion are the values that guide both my professional and personal life. I believe trust is earned through honesty, consistency, and following through on commitments. Whether I'm helping a client understand their finances or supporting my children in their goals, I strive to lead with transparency and reliability.
As a single mother and business owner, I've learned the importance of resilience and continuous growth. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, improve, and help others succeed. My goal is to build lasting relationships, make a positive impact in my community, and empower business owners with the financial knowledge and confidence they need to achieve their own success.
