Licensed Addiction Counselor
Cherry Creek Treatment Center
Wichita, KS

I am a Licensed Addiction Counselor and IOP/OP counselor at Cherry Creek Treatment Center, specializing in supporting adolescents in recovery.

I provide individual and group counseling, facilitate psychoeducational and process groups, and design structured adolescent treatment curricula focused on emotional regulation, relapse prevention, and healthy decision-making.

My clinical approach emphasizes positive reinforcement and the integration of positive psychology concepts to build motivation, resilience, pro-social coping skills, and strengthening protective factors that support long-term recovery. I value meeting clients where they are — whether they feel resistant, ambivalent, or motivated — and helping them move toward meaningful change at their own pace.

I work closely with families, schools, legal supervision, and community providers to coordinate care and support successful outcomes. I was honored to receive the DCCCA Award of Excellence for outstanding collaboration with clients and their referral sources.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Always strive for excellence, and never hesitate to advocate for yourself. Stay grounded in the passion that led you to this work; When you remain connected to your purpose, fulfillment and joy in your career will naturally follow.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest opportunities in this work is the chance to make a meaningful, lasting impact in each person’s life. I truly believe every interaction matters — even when someone isn’t ready for change yet, there is always space to nurture growth, strengthen insight, and inspire hope. Maintaining a positive outlook and guiding with compassion and a genuine belief in their potential can build a powerful momentum of growth and change.

Watching individuals step into their confidence and exceed what they once believed was possible is the most fulfilling part of what I do. Being trusted to be a part of that journey is something I hold with deep gratitude and purpose.
