About Kenisha

Kenisha Morgan is an accomplished healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience in medical billing, coding, and claims processing. She also has approximately 15 years of Security and Corrections experience. She has done things like Armed Security, Field Training officer, Security and Corrections. She was born in Natchez, Mississippi. Based in Texas, she currently serves as a Senior Claims Technician at HCSC, where she manages Medicare claims and contributes to a rework team focused on correcting and reprocessing claims submitted incorrectly. Her expertise ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in complex claims operations, reflecting a career built on precision and problem-solving. Throughout her professional journey, Kenisha has demonstrated a strong commitment to operational excellence and continuous learning. She began her career on the front end of claims processing before advancing to the specialized rework team, where she resolves complex claim issues and optimizes workflow processes. Her approach is defined by diligence, analytical thinking, and a solutions-oriented mindset, which have made her a trusted resource within her organization. Kenisha is a passionate advocate for education and perseverance. She holds an associate’s degree in healthcare data technology from Copiah-Lincoln Community College a Bachelors in Healthcare Management from Walden University/Cum Laude and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. 01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, lifelong learning and a strong work ethic. Balancing my career, family and education taught me discipline, resiliency and the value of consistency.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Invest in yourself even when it’s hard

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Kenisha advises younger women not to procrastinate: go to school and complete your degree early rather than waiting — she returned to school after her youngest finished high school and emphasizes getting it done. Speak up, keep learning, and never let anyone rush your growth or limit your potential.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The healthcare system continues to expand so professionals that understand billing and coding, and claims accuracy are in demand. Most of the jobs can be done in a remote or hybrid setting this expands opportunities nationally and it’s a great work life balance.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value perseverance, education, integrity, responsibility and excellence, guided by family, service and lifelong growth.
