About Kenna
Kenna Reiter is a handywoman and business owner based in Portland, Oregon. She first entered the construction industry about 15 years ago, soaking up knowledge before launching her own business in 2016. After a brief hiatus in another industry, she restarted the business in January. Reiter holds a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry, which she earned in 2011 with original plans for medical school that shifted after taking a year off. She has obtained OSHA certifications and an Oregon contractor's license. Her work encompasses drywall patching, flooring, fences, decks, tile work, and painting, with a preference for projects that engage her creative mind. Reiter attributes her success to the strong work ethic she inherited from her mother and the drive to trailblaze as a woman in a male-dominated field. She advises others to push through fears and go for opportunities, noting that she was not always confident but has thrived by making it happen. One ongoing challenge is maintaining steady work during the winter lull when clients prefer summer projects.
