About Khushboo
Khushboo Dhuri is a dedicated researcher and biotechnology professional with a strong foundation in environmental biotechnology, microbial bioremediation, and protein biochemistry. With over four years of experience, she currently serves as an Independent Researcher at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. In this role, she reviews peer-reviewed literature on plastic biodegradation, nanoplastics, and microbial degradation pathways while also working as a Graduate Assistant supporting faculty-led research through literature review and technical documentation. Her academic background includes a degree in Biotechnology Engineering and clearing the GATE Biotechnology 2025 exam. She is pursuing a Master's in Environmental Health and Safety at RIT, with expected completion following her comprehensive exam this fall. She is a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers at RIT and holds certifications in OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen and record-keeping rules. Her research focuses on microplastics and nanoplastics pollution, including independent study on PPE materials and eradication at the molecular level using enzymes and microbes. She has presented accepted work at a conference in Baltimore in October.
