"The anchor of my creative journey is a beautiful, echoing truth left to me by my late maternal grandmother: 'Follow your dream.' In the high-stakes world of contemporary publishing and digital media, grit is just as vital as intellect. Whenever the path turns steep and the temptation to give up creeps in, her words replay in my mind like a brilliant cadence. They strip away the noise and negativity, forcing me to rise, pivot, and continue creating. I keep trying no matter what, painting pictures with my prose and keeping her memory alive through my relentless pursuit of excellence."
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
"For young women aspiring to architect a meaningful career path in the literary and digital content space, my primary advice is to immerse yourself in reading. Begin by building a bulletproof foundation with the classics. Deeply study the rhythmic mastery and structural brilliance of iconic poets and novelists like William Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Ralph Waldo Emerson, William Carlos Williams, Emily Dickinson, Charlotte and Emily Brontë, Edgar Allan Poe, and Dylan Thomas. Once you understand the architecture of the masters, pivot to reading contemporary authors to analyze modern market trends.
Secondly, treat writing as a daily discipline. Commit to writing every single day, even if you begin with just ten focused minutes. Keeping a private journal is an exceptional tool for this routine. Draw raw material directly from your own life, the micro-expressions of people you encounter, and current media trends. When you hit a creative block, step away from the screen and take a nature walk; immersing yourself in the physical world is one of the greatest, most refreshing catalysts for artistic inspiration."
