Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kimberly
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith in God and the resilience I developed while navigating divorce and raising my daughter as a single mother. Through life’s challenges, I learned to remain optimistic, speak positivity into my life, and deepen my understanding of the Bible. My spiritual growth has strengthened me, opened new doors, and empowered me to embrace this new chapter of life with renewed purpose and confidence.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received came from my Toastmasters mentor, Kristen Cordier, who held me accountable for delivering my icebreaker speech and encouraged me to connect with others. His guidance helped me deliver my first speech successfully, earning congratulations from the audience. My experience also inspired others to return to school, reinforcing the importance of stepping outside my comfort zone and leading by example.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is to remember that it is never too late to pursue something you truly want. Be willing to step outside your comfort zone, as growth comes from embracing new challenges. Volunteer to support your community and nurture your well-being, mentor other women, and pay it forward by helping others succeed along the way.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities in my field is making orthodontic care accessible to individuals and families who cannot afford it. My own journey, growing up as one of seven children in a hardworking family with humble beginnings, inspired me to establish my Smiling Big Foundation nonprofit. After experiencing how self-care, including improving my teeth and appearance, boosted my confidence, I became passionate about helping others experience that same joy and self-esteem by providing access to orthodontic care.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Relationships are the most important values in my work and personal life because I believe no one achieves success alone. I deeply appreciate Chick-Fil-A’s family-oriented culture and the meaningful connections it fosters. I am also inspired by the founder Truett Cathy’s reminder that anyone who is breathing needs encouragement, which reinforces my belief in treating others with kindness, offering support, and building genuine relationships.
