About Kimberly
Kimberly is an entrepreneurial nonprofit leader and community advocate whose vision and determination have transformed a grassroots passion project into a thriving organization that supports the next generation of musicians. As Founder and President of South Bay Music Connection (SBMC), an award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, she has spent the past eight years creating meaningful performance opportunities for emerging artists while strengthening the cultural fabric of communities throughout the South Bay and Los Angeles region. Through her leadership, SBMC has become a respected platform that connects young musicians with audiences, businesses, civic organizations, and community leaders, helping artists gain invaluable experience and exposure while fostering a deeper appreciation for live music.
What began as an effort to secure performance opportunities for her son's band evolved into a mission-driven organization that now produces community events, coordinates live entertainment programs, and collaborates with municipalities, chambers of commerce, nonprofits, venues, and local businesses. Kimberly has successfully built the organization from the ground up, overseeing every aspect of its growth, including strategic partnerships, fundraising, operations, event production, volunteer management, budgeting, and organizational development. Her ability to bring diverse stakeholders together around a shared purpose has enabled South Bay Music Connection to expand its reach and create lasting value for both musicians and the communities it serves.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to persistence, kindness, and treating people with respect and honesty. I also have a genuine passion for what I do, which keeps me motivated through challenges. Over time, I’ve learned to stay focused on my mission and values rather than worrying about others’ opinions, allowing me to lead with greater confidence and authenticity.
