Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience and adaptability. Over the past year and a half, I’ve navigated challenges without a safety net, using a range of skills to stay self-sufficient and keep moving forward. I’m proud of my ability to persevere, adapt to different opportunities, and maintain momentum even when traditional paths didn’t work out.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came from my then-husband: get your real estate license. Following that advice opened an entirely new path for me and expanded the opportunities I could pursue.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is that it’s okay not to have everything figured out. Take the time to explore different paths, consider nontraditional opportunities, seek out mentors, and focus on building meaningful networks rather than relying solely on formal credentials.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now include age discrimination in hiring, navigating career transitions, and the isolation that can come with remote or contract work. At the same time, there are significant opportunities through networking platforms and increased visibility, which open doors and enable mentoring across generations.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are mentorship, compassion for animals, independence, resilience, and maintaining respectful and collaborative professional relationships.
