Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kylie
01What do you attribute your success to?
My motivation is for future leaders to have positive impact like people have given to me. I believe that there's divine guidance beyond me, that God is involved in the plan. But I also believe it's a partnership, that it's the actions that I'm taking and the people that are crossing my path. So a lot of it is for the motivation of knowing what your impact is beyond just you, for something bigger, for God's plan, and to be positively impacted for other people to see the light that they can shine and be of service.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
From my mom: if there's a will, there's a way. From my mentor James Archer: life is about choices, and everything is negotiable. Also, respond don't react.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Hospitality and service is everywhere. Just start somewhere because what you can learn in a service-based business can be transferable. Choose to show up, be your best, be open to learn, and share a smile.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
A big topic is technology and the infusion of AI. Embracing new trends of AI and how to incorporate that in a human-led industry can be challenging, while still prioritizing the human piece and not losing the human connection.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Core values from the Ritz-Carlton: being kind, finding the bright side of every situation, shining your light, share a smile, solution-focused. Personal priorities: faith, family, fitness.
