Her Interview
Ten minutes with LaTonya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first, to being fortunate to have a spouse, family, and friends who fully support me. Secondly, to colleagues, leaders, and mentors who have believed in me and supported my growth throughout my career. Having people who recognize my potential, value my contributions, and provide opportunities to learn and grow has played an important role in my professional journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to pursue excellence in everything you do—even when no one is watching. Excellence isn't about perfection; it's about consistently showing up prepared, delivering your best, and treating people with integrity and respect. I've found that when you commit to excellence, opportunities, trust, and leadership naturally follow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to remember that YOU belong. You have worked hard to earn your place, and you deserve to be in the room. When you are invited to the table, recognize that you have earned your seat and bring confidence in your knowledge, skills, and perspective.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I come from a lineage of hard workers with outstanding work ethics so the values that guide me in both my work and personal life are excellence, integrity, faith, and service. I believe excellence is a daily choice—consistently giving your best and never settling for "good enough." My parents raised me to understand that Integrity means doing what's right, even when no one is watching. My faith reminds me to lead with humility and compassion, while a heart for service keeps me focused on making a positive impact on others. Those values shape how I lead, build relationships, and define success.
