Her Story

About Laura

Laura Mandzok is the Founder and owner of Mandzok Marketing, a boutique digital marketing agency she established after spending eight years with a digital agency. With 20 to 25 years of experience in marketing, she began her career in traditional marketing with a textbook publisher before transitioning into digital marketing as the internet became an increasingly important business and communications channel. Today, she provides comprehensive marketing services including PPC advertising, SEO, e-commerce, email marketing, lead generation, conversion optimization, social media, and marketing strategy. Although she is the agency’s sole employee, Laura collaborates with a network of approximately 10 subcontractors to deliver specialized services and solutions for her clients.

Throughout her career, Laura has built a strong record of delivering measurable results for businesses ranging from startups and small organizations to major national brands. At Mandzok Marketing, she has helped clients increase conference attendance by 65%, improve lead conversion by 37%, grow total leads by 73%, and achieve substantial increases in website traffic, revenue, and e-commerce performance. Earlier in her career, as an E-commerce Manager at Personnel Concepts and later through progressive digital marketing roles at WebMetro, she developed expertise in managing online sales, paid search, SEO, digital strategy, and multi-channel campaigns. Laura earned a bachelor's degree in English from Chapman University, followed by an MFA in Creative Writing and a master's degree in Writing for Film and Television, combining analytical marketing expertise with strong communication and storytelling skills.

Laura attributes her professional success to her drive, ambition, and commitment to hard work, approaching each day as an opportunity to improve herself, strengthen her business, and enhance the value she provides to clients. Her approach to marketing is grounded in honesty, integrity, transparency, and a commitment to strategies that produce meaningful, measurable results. She also encourages women entering entrepreneurship to move beyond self-doubt and recognize the expertise and value they already possess. Through her work and example, Laura demonstrates that confidence, continuous growth, and a willingness to embrace change can create a lasting and successful career in an evolving industry.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Laura

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my drive, ambition, and willingness to work hard. I continually challenge myself to find ways to grow, improve my business, and enhance the level of service I provide to my clients. My commitment to continuous improvement and my dedication to delivering meaningful value have been key drivers of my professional success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of career advice I have ever received was to always look for a better opportunity. What began as simple advice to seek a better job or place to live evolved into a broader philosophy of continually pursuing opportunities for growth and improvement. Choosing to transition from working for someone else to becoming an entrepreneur has been one of the best decisions I have made. While entrepreneurship has certainly come with its challenges, it has also given me the flexibility to devote meaningful time to my family, friends, and business while maintaining balance and fulfillment across each area of my life.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage women entering my industry to overcome self-doubt and recognize the value of their own expertise. Confidence can be one of the greatest challenges when considering entrepreneurship, but it is important to remember that your knowledge, experience, and skills have real value. Do not hesitate to leverage what you know to create opportunities and build something of your own. Most importantly, true confidence comes from within, so believe in yourself and the expertise you bring to the table.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see artificial intelligence as both a significant opportunity and a challenge for the marketing industry. As AI continues to transform the way we approach marketing, some business owners may believe it can completely replace the human element, but I do not believe that is realistic. AI is a powerful tool, but it still requires the right information, strategy, and human direction to produce meaningful results. My company is adapting by learning how to leverage AI effectively while also helping our clients understand how to use these tools appropriately and strategically.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, integrity, and transparency are the values at the foundation of both my personal and professional life. I want my clients to trust that I will deliver on my promises and communicate openly, even when circumstances are challenging. Rather than hiding problems, I believe in being transparent about what is happening, addressing challenges directly, and providing a clear plan for resolving them. Building trust through honest communication and accountability is essential to how I work and how I approach my relationships with others.
