About Laurel
Laurel Lunstrum is a highly respected real estate broker and the owner of Brokerage House Realty, Inc., bringing more than 50 years of experience to the industry. Although her educational background includes degrees in medical technology and microbiology, Laurel was encouraged by her father, a contractor, to explore a career in real estate when she became discouraged by the earning potential in her original field. What began as a career change quickly became a lifelong passion, and she has since built a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and exceptional client service.
After entering the real estate profession in the 1970s, Laurel purchased and transformed a branch office of an existing brokerage into what is now Brokerage House Realty, Inc. Over the decades, she has successfully guided countless buyers and sellers while developing specialized expertise in foreclosure properties and employee relocation services. Her commitment to continuing education, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to an ever-changing market have been key factors in her long-standing success. In addition to serving clients, she has mentored numerous agents and held leadership roles within local and state real estate organizations.
Throughout her career, Laurel has remained dedicated to conducting business with honesty, integrity, and a genuine commitment to helping others achieve their goals. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to staying educated about changes within the industry, consistently showing up, and paying close attention to the details that make a difference. Throughout my career, I have focused on building expertise in specialized areas such as foreclosures and relocations, which allowed me to serve clients with unique needs. I also believe that providing excellent service has contributed to a high rate of repeat and referral business, which has been a key factor in my long-term success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to invest in education and continuously develop expertise in areas that interest me. Pursuing professional designations, such as the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation, helps build credibility and demonstrates a commitment to excellence. I have also learned the importance of following up consistently, being detail-oriented, and remaining persistent when working toward professional goals.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women entering the industry to prioritize education and seek opportunities to build specialized knowledge through professional organizations and local industry programs. Earning professional designations can strengthen your credibility and help you stand out in a competitive field. Most importantly, be diligent in following up, pay attention to details, and remain persistent. Success often comes to those who are willing to stay focused, work hard, and persevere through challenges.
