01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to building strong relationships, a genuine commitment to helping others, and being present for families during difficult transitions. Patience, persistence, networking, and adaptability have all played key roles in my growth. I also continue to learn, expand my connections, and embrace the unpredictable nature of my field, which has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
While I do not attribute my career development to a single mentor, I have learned that building strong relationships and consistently networking within the senior living industry is invaluable. My connections with healthcare professionals, senior living leaders, and referral partners have provided ongoing learning, insight, and guidance that have significantly contributed to my professional growth and success.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Give yourself grace for the first year because the industry is so up and down. You have to make connections with people and utilize your LinkedIn and social media to advertise who you are. Attend every networking group or luncheon that you can and really market yourself. The biggest thing is giving yourself grace because you just don't know when clients will come, and you have to work on filling your pipeline while having fun and being yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is the around-the-clock nature of senior living advisement, as families often need immediate support during urgent and emotional transitions. At the same time, I see significant opportunity in helping families navigate increasingly complex senior care options. With a growing aging population, the demand for knowledgeable advisors who can provide guidance, advocacy, and personalized support continues to expand.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In both my work and personal life, I value compassion, service, integrity, flexibility, and strong relationship-building. I strive to be a trusted advocate for families, ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve. Honesty, responsiveness, empathy, and respect are central to how I serve others, and I also place a strong emphasis on perseverance and maintaining a solid work ethic in a field where needs can arise unexpectedly.
