Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lauri
01What do you attribute your success to?
God, and having a creative mom who was an entrepreneur. Strong women in my life encouraging me, other strong entrepreneurial type of women. Probably was a big driver. Well, I can do it. I can do anything.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I'd say that you can't have it all. If you have kids, you may not get that big promotion if you wanted to stay home with your kids. Everything kind of balancing things, but I would encourage them to try to follow their passion in terms of their career. If you can do something you're passionate about, that really keeps you going. When I had kids, it was really great to be able to work part-time or be flexible. I was kind of just pushed into having my own company, made it easier for me to be able to raise my kids and have flexibility. I would encourage them to just really try to think out of the box, and if they have something they really are passionate about, just try to go forward and make it happen. If you do what you really want to do in life, things come into alignment better than when you're trying to do something somebody else wanted you to do or just what you thought society wanted you to do.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Just a really high level of integrity, so following through. Just really good customer service, just treating people like if it was my house, I'd want somebody to do this, so I kind of go above and beyond. Super conscientious about everything so that they can have a good experience. In my personal life is similar, just I give a lot and go out of my way to be helpful to people. I'm always giving back, trying to lift people up. I had a mom who was like that. She was very uplifting to people, and I saw how fruitful her life was.
