01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Your journey is your journey alone. Don't compare yourself. You can look to other women to be inspired, but be mindful and really try to figure out what it is that you want for yourself. Don't live in a spirit of comparison, because so many times women say, oh, I can't do it like her, or she's better at it, but your journey is yours alone. The people that are meant for you will find you. I find that out time and time again, and the timing doesn't always look like how we think it's gonna look like. Sometimes the journey will take you through a whole different route that you never anticipated just so you can meet certain people. Find what it is that you're good at, stick to that and master it. Know that in time, if you stick with it, practice does not make perfect, it makes progress. And if you do that, then rest assured, your people will find you, your tribe will find you, and it'll be worth it. Don't get discouraged, because sometimes you will be that lone ranger. You have to work through things by yourself. And that's not to punish you, and that's not to say that you will be denied these things, but this is your route, this is the route that God has for you. Just don't give up. Try to network with different people. That matters too. The people you're circling with, the kind of friends that you have, make sure that they're encouraging and they want to do some of the things that you want to do. You can waste a lot of time around people who are not doing the same things that you're doing, and it takes a lot of time away from you focusing. So don't procrastinate. Figure out what it is that you want to do and stick to that. Find different support groups, like Influential Women, or Voyage, or different people who cater to entrepreneurs and want to help you move forward to get that momentum going.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Finding help is one of the biggest challenges. Just finding basic help. A lot of people charge you for everything. Sometimes you will be that lone ranger and have to work through things by yourself. It's frustrating not being able to find people. But it's important to network with different people and find support groups that cater to entrepreneurs. You also need to make sure you're circling with the right kind of friends who are encouraging and want to do similar things, because you can waste a lot of time around people who are not doing the same things you're doing.
