Her Story
About Lenora
Lenora Brown serves as an Associate Team Leader on the parts, credits, and returns team supporting GE Appliances through the ASI call center. Having joined ASI in 2021 and stepped into her current role in December 2024, she is responsible for overseeing agent adherence, leading trainings and huddles, and designing initiatives that boost owner sales and strengthen loyalty-program engagement. Her impact in this area has been substantial: under her guidance, owner sales in her department grew from $74,000 to more than $628,000 within a single year, an achievement that earned her recognition as her department's Zero Distance Champion. She has also been selected for feature in the 2026 edition of Influential Woman magazine, representing the state of Mississippi. Before entering the home appliance industry, Brown built a long career in healthcare, spending fourteen to fifteen years as a certified pharmacy technician, with seven years each at Walgreens Pharmacy and Reliant Pharmacy. Her academic path reflects a similarly varied journey: she completed her high school diploma at Knott County Central High School, went on to study fashion and apparel design at Eastern Kentucky University, and later earned her pharmacy technician certification through Remington College's Memphis campus. This blend of retail, healthcare, and creative training has shaped her adaptable approach to leadership and customer service. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Brown is deeply engaged in community and family life. She holds memberships with the Ida Mae Thornton Family Foundation, Zeta Phi Beta Amecia and The Gathering Place under the leadership of Dr. TeNita Freeman and she dedicates her time to mentoring students at Hamilton High School in conflict resolution, resume writing, and interview preparation in the future 2026-2027 school year. Brown credits much of her professional growth to self-advocacy, consistency, and honesty, values she carries into both her career and her personal life, and she encourages other women entering her field to trust their own progress and stay true to their goals even without constant outside recognition.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lenora
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being my own cheerleader. You have to recognize your own accomplishments, especially when you contribute something valuable to the company and share it with upper management but don't always receive acknowledgment in return. I've learned to celebrate my own wins and stay confident in the fact that I'm doing well, even without that external validation.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to stay consistent in my goals and to always be honest, even when honesty is difficult to give or hear.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering this industry to be their own cheerleader, to stay consistent as they work toward their goals, and to be honest with themselves about whether a role or path truly fits them.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field is that GE Appliances continues to grow and evolve, and that growth creates new roles and new avenues for revenue. On the challenges side, I've seen the effects of business closures in other sectors, such as the closure of mail-order pharmacy divisions earlier in my career, and I've also navigated workplace safety concerns from my time in pharmacy as well as the challenge of balancing work-from-home arrangements with family responsibilities.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are consistency, honesty even when it's uncomfortable, faith, family, and making sure others feel seen and supported in their own journeys.
