Her Story

About Leslie

Leslie Espinola is a Dental Executive Coach, Fractional COO, trusted industry advisor, and speaker, as well as the Founder of High Peak Dental Advisors. With more than 30 years of experience in dental practice operations, she has built a career centered on helping multi-specialty dental organizations achieve sustainable growth through strong leadership, efficient systems, and data-driven performance. She currently works with dental practices and organizations across the United States, including her role with the Dentist Entrepreneur Organization (DEO), where she supports leaders in strengthening operations, culture, and profitability.

Her career in dentistry began in 1991, working in her father’s dental practice, where she gained hands-on experience across nearly every role—from chairside assisting to treatment coordination and operations leadership. Over the years, she helped scale the practice from a small office into a large, multi-operatory organization, developing a deep understanding of what drives both clinical excellence and business success. She later transitioned into leadership and consulting roles, including serving as Director of Operations in multi-site dental organizations and federally qualified health centers, where she led teams through growth, change, and operational transformation.

Today, Leslie focuses on coaching and advising dental leaders to build high-performing, people-centered organizations. Through High Peak Dental Advisors, she provides strategic guidance in areas such as revenue cycle management, team development, onboarding systems, and leadership training. She is also a sought-after speaker on topics including practice growth, culture, retention, and operational efficiency. Her work reflects a core belief that successful dental organizations are built not only on systems and metrics, but on empowered teams and strong, intentional leadership.

Ten minutes with Leslie

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to take the time to learn every facet of the field from front to back so you can build a strong, well-rounded foundation. Don’t be afraid to step into new opportunities, even if they feel challenging or outside your comfort zone, as that’s often where the most growth happens. I also encourage seeking out a female mentor for guidance and support, while also committing to becoming a mentor to others as you advance in your own career.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now include recruiting qualified candidates whose skills closely match the needs of the role, which continues to be increasingly competitive. Another key challenge is keeping up with the rapid advancements in AI and technology, which are constantly reshaping tools, processes, and expectations within the industry.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are servant leadership and continuous learning. I believe in leading by supporting others and helping them grow. Education has been central to my journey, from earning my bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science from St. Petersburg College to becoming a certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in Florida in 1991, and I continue to learn through ongoing education and professional development because I believe leadership and growth are lifelong commitments.
