About Lilianae

Liliane Borgman Fuhrman is an accomplished healthcare executive and entrepreneur whose career reflects decades of leadership, resilience, and dedication to service. Born into a family of business owners in Venezuela, Liliane began her professional journey at just 20 years old in her family’s textile company, where she learned the fundamentals of operations, leadership, and customer relations directly from her father and grandfather while simultaneously completing her degree in Business Administration at Universidad Santa María. This combination of hands-on business experience and formal education laid the foundation for her entrepreneurial mindset and strong work ethic. Fourteen years ago, she and her husband made the bold decision to relocate to the United States and start over in an entirely new industry, building their healthcare company from the ground up with determination, vision, and a commitment to excellence.

As CEO of AHCEQUIP, Liliane has successfully grown the organization from a small operation with just eight employees into a thriving healthcare company with more than 40 team members serving patients throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Through her focus on relationship-building, operational efficiency, and compassionate care, the company has become a trusted provider of durable medical equipment, respiratory care, sleep apnea therapy, and mobility solutions across South Florida. Liliane maintains a highly hands-on leadership style, beginning each day by reviewing priorities and actively engaging with referral sources throughout the region. Most Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, she visits physicians’ offices and hospitals in person, strengthening partnerships with pulmonologists, cardiologists, family medicine physicians, ENT specialists, case managers, and discharge planners. She believes that strong healthcare collaboration is essential to improving patient outcomes and ensuring seamless transitions from hospital to home. Her passion is rooted not only in business growth, but in helping patients with respiratory and mobility challenges receive the care, education, and support they need to improve their quality of life.

Beyond her executive leadership, Liliane is deeply committed to community involvement and philanthropic service. She serves on the Board of Directors for Jewish Community Services of South Florida, supporting programs that enhance the well-being of children, families, seniors, and underserved populations throughout the region. She also remains connected to her entrepreneurial roots through her continued involvement with Gomelast in Peru. Recognized for her professionalism, compassion, and collaborative leadership style, Liliane Borgman Fuhrman continues to make a lasting impact in healthcare by combining business expertise with a genuine commitment to improving lives and serving the growing South Florida community.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lilianae

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being surrounded with good people - that's something my father always emphasized. Family values have been absolutely central to everything I've achieved. I have strong beliefs - I believe in God, and I believe, as my father taught me, that every day a miracle happens. I'm also always searching for how to help others. You never know when that act of kindness will come back to you, but I do it because I genuinely want to help people who are in need at that moment. That move of kindness - it's something that drives me every day in both my personal and professional life.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I've received incredible advice from two people who are very important in my life. From my father, the message is very clear: you have to believe that every day comes a miracle, and you have to be surrounded with good people. That's something I carry with me every single day. The other piece of advice comes from my husband. We recently started working together after being in different fields for years, and we wanted to build this business together when we came to the U.S. His message is simple but powerful: don't leave tomorrow what you can do today. He's always on top of things - if he has a very small issue, he takes care of the issue before it grows. I think that's really good advice, and it's helped us tremendously in building our company.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now are twofold. First, we're located in Miami, Florida, and this city is growing tremendously. Services are really in need, so the first challenge is understanding that we need to grow because of necessity, not because of greed or money - we need to grow because of the situation and the demand. The other major challenge involves insurance coverage. We all have insurances, but they reflect two sides - the side for the providers and the side for the members. I would love to see both sides on the same page, because at the end it's business, but at the very, very end, it's people that we are helping here. Sometimes I struggle because a patient is not covered because they have high deductibles, and this patient needs medical equipment which is a necessity for their recovery or rehabilitation, but they can't afford it because of those high deductibles. The industry needs to work together so we can help these patients who truly need our services.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important value for me, and perhaps the most difficult challenge, is finding balance between family and work. As women, we have so many responsibilities, but I always put my family first. I'm a mother of 5 kids and now have 4 grandchildren. I believe that because of all those values throughout my life, I've been able to combine my family and my work. Sometimes it was about quality and not quantity - maybe I didn't have a lot of time for my kids when they were small, but values came through because my mom was always there for me. I learned so much from her about family. She dedicated a lot of her time to the family, and she was there for me then and is still there for me now. She gives me tremendous support, so I could raise my kids, work, and develop myself as a businesswoman. That family support, combined with my strong beliefs and my commitment to helping others, are what guide everything I do.
