Ten minutes with Lynn
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of service, intentional relationships, and a willingness to continually evolve. Throughout my career, I’ve learned that success is rarely built alone. It comes from showing up consistently, investing in people, staying curious, and being willing to grow through every season. I’ve never focused solely on transactions or titles; I’ve focused on creating meaningful experiences, building trust, and leaving people, organizations, and communities better than I found them. My success is also rooted in faith, resilience, and the belief that our lived experiences are just as valuable as our professional expertise.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to keep learning, to keep moving forward in your craft, towards the path that you're going. Keep learning more, keep stacking, whether it's certifications or more educational information in the field that you're in. Just keep learning and keep moving forward without limits. My grandfather used to say, if you think you know everything, you really don't know anything, so I believe you should always be open to learning and growing, no matter what you're doing. Instead of chasing titles, I’ve learned to focus on impact, continuous learning, and creating value. When you lead with intention and remain committed to growth, opportunities tend to find you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never give up on yourself or your vision. Be willing to build genuine relationships, partner with others, and collaborate with your peers. Success is rarely achieved in isolation.
Understand that visibility creates opportunity. People can’t support, hire, collaborate with, or learn from you if they don’t know you exist. Put yourself out there, share your perspective, and don’t be afraid to take up space.
Most importantly, stay authentic. The most sustainable success comes when your work is aligned with who you truly are. When you’re genuine, people experience that authenticity, and it becomes one of your greatest strengths.
I also encourage young women to recognize the value of their lived experiences. Your personal journey, cultural background, challenges, relationships, and unique perspective often provide insights that can’t be learned from a textbook alone. Education and credentials matter, but so does wisdom gained through experience.
Don’t discount what you’ve lived through. Some of your greatest contributions will come not from what you’ve studied, but from what you’ve overcome, observed, and learned along the way. When you combine knowledge with experience, purpose with action, and authenticity with visibility, you create a foundation for meaningful and lasting success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is establishing credibility and earning opportunities when you don’t have the backing of a large organization behind you. We’re living in a time where there are more opportunities than ever to create your own path, build your own brand, and gain access to rooms that may have once felt out of reach. I’ve been fortunate to be invited into spaces I never imagined I’d be part of, and I’m incredibly grateful for those opportunities.
At the same time, independent leaders, consultants, entrepreneurs, and experience architects often have to prove themselves more than those representing a Fortune 500 company or a well-known brand. The value may be equal, or even greater, but the perception isn’t always the same.
The challenge becomes learning how to create your own credibility, advocate for your expertise, and consistently demonstrate your value. Sometimes that means earning a seat at the table. Other times, it means building your own table and inviting others to join you.
What keeps me focused is understanding that today’s independent brand can become tomorrow’s industry leader. Every opportunity, every relationship, and every experience is part of building that future. The challenge is real, but so is the opportunity to shape your own legacy.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My core values are community, connection, and impact. I believe in helping people feel seen, heard, and inspired while creating meaningful experiences that are authentic and intentional. Outside of work, I enjoy music, travel, family, and life’s simple moments. No matter the setting, my goal is always to elevate every interaction and leave people better than I found them.
