About Lynn
I started as an author in 2012 working with Vampire Diaries conferences and books, then moved to my own unique paranormal series. All five books in the series are complete and I am editing the first two for release soon. Beyond writing, my work involves helping Medicaid patients by expanding access to meals and lodging across 38 states since 2003 under Title 42. I earned a Master's in Healthcare Administration in 2021 and am pursuing a Master's in Legal Studies. I value staying focused, as advised by author Andrew Young, and live a minimalistic life centered on family, kindness, and generosity.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to caring enough to stay focused and loving what I am doing to make an impact. When writing, I love my characters like best friends and must get them out of my head. Success comes from focusing fully on the task at hand whether writing, helping others, or volunteering.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice came from friend Andrew Young, a New York Times best-selling author, who said to keep notes and stay focused. He had huge post-it notes everywhere, and this advice helps me concentrate fully on whatever I am doing at the moment without wandering.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't let anything stop you from doing what you want to do. People may say you can't because you lack a college education, but that's garbage. Get your education but do not limit yourself. The world is full of opportunity, and if you cannot find a job, create your own and go on with it. Anything is possible.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge as an author is getting the marketing fit together. I am working on marketing through book clubs to build a following. There is a lot of competition with many people writing and self-publishing, but also many good books out there.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family, being kind, and being generous are most important. Just because you have something does not mean you need to hoard it. I like living simply in a minimalistic way, not being a thing person. I try to do the best I can and make a difference, putting people and animals first. I love my tattoos as art and embrace being unique.

People often ask me how I have managed to write books, build businesses, work in healthcare, and keep starting over when life has taken unexpected turns.
The truth is, I don't think very far ahead. I think about the next shovel full. Mountains aren't moved in one heroic moment. They're moved one scoop at a time. One phone call. One page. One chapter. One client. One act of kindness. One more attempt after everyone else has decided to quit.
I've met incredible writers who never became authors because they never finished Chapter One. I've met entrepreneurs with brilliant ideas that never became businesses because they waited for the perfect time to begin.
Perfection has never finished anything. Progress does.
If there's one thing I'd hope someone takes away from my story, it's this: Finish what you start. The world doesn't need more perfect ideas. It needs people willing to keep digging until the mountain finally moves.
And if you can make someone laugh along the way, share a cinnamon roll, or remind them they're not alone, the journey becomes a little easier for everyone.
A Lesson in Noticing
I was fourteen years old when I learned one of the most important lessons of my life.
I volunteered at a nursing home after having eye surgery. I wore sunglasses because I thought they made me look a little less frightening, and I spent my days delivering meal trays.
One afternoon, I returned to collect a gentleman's tray. His food was everywhere except where it belonged. No one had told me he couldn't feed himself.
I remember standing there with my heart sinking—not because I had done anything intentionally wrong, but because I realized someone had needed more than I knew how to give.
So I went back, got him another tray, and sat with him until he finished his meal.
I've carried that moment with me for decades.
It taught me that helping people isn't always about having the perfect answer. Sometimes it's about noticing what someone needs, going back for another tray, and trying again.
That lesson has followed me through healthcare, hospitality, writing, and every business I've built. I still believe that our greatest success isn't measured by what we accumulate. It's measured by how often we're willing to go back for another tray.
Redefining Success
People often ask what success looks like to me. It isn't a title, a paycheck, or an award on the wall. Those things are wonderful, but they aren't what keeps me going.
Success is the family that finally gets the help they need. It is the patient who reaches lifesaving medical care because someone took the time to understand the system. It's the client who breathes a sigh of relief because a problem has been solved. It's the reader who closes one of my books feeling a little more hopeful than when they opened it.
If I've learned anything throughout my career, it's this: Don't chase recognition. Chase the opportunity to make a difference and be a positive influence. Recognition may or may not come, but the lives you touch will always matter.
And when the road gets difficult—and it will—keep going. Someone you may never meet could be waiting for the very thing you're working so hard to build.
