About Mariana
Mariana Vdovychyn is an accomplished Executive Assistant specializing in executive operations and support at Amdocs, where she has served since 2023. In her role supporting the SVP Account Executive for Comcast, she manages complex calendars, coordinates executive priorities, supports customer sessions, and contributes to business operations and large-scale events. Known for her calm, positive approach and strong attention to detail, Mariana has built a career around helping leaders and teams operate efficiently while creating well-organized and meaningful experiences.
Mariana’s professional background spans executive assistance, project coordination, research, analytics, information gathering, writing, and event management. Before joining Amdocs, she served as Executive Personal Assistant to the President and CEO at Intetics and as Executive Personal Assistant to the COO at Helpware, building extensive experience in supporting senior leadership and managing competing priorities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Press Relations and a master’s degree in Political Science and Government from Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University. Her commitment to continued learning is also reflected in her AI-related certifications, including training in generative AI prompting and artificial intelligence.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Mariana values maintaining balance, giving back, and staying connected to her community. She volunteers with initiatives involving Code for Philly, homelessness support, school drives, retirement communities, and the Red Cross. Outside of work, she enjoys biking, oil painting, pottery, and traveling, using these activities as opportunities to recharge and experience new surroundings. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I left Ukraine because of the war as a Ukrainian refugee. Since I cannot really do much for my country, I feel pleasure by helping people. I don't really have the goal out of it, I just feel like this is so human to do.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My first boss told me about a sign at Harvard that says you can do nothing but remember that your competitors is working at the same time. That was the best advice: never give up, finish what you started, and remember that in order to achieve anything you just need to put a lot of time and effort into it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
See how your bosses finish their tasks. The most valuable thing is having access to C-suite executives so you can knock on their door and ask any question. Use the opportunity when you are surrounded by people that scale.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is AI, it's a game changer changing everything. AI is also a challenge and opportunity depending how you transform into this business. In telecommunication it's a great opportunity to improve the billing system with AI to delegate some technical work, but human needs to control it.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Ability to see positive things in everything and let it go when needed. I'm a big fan of open communication and clear feedback, and when you say this in a more positive way it sounds absolutely different. I want to be absolutely straightforward.
