02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice she ever received was to do one thing every day that scares her. Growth rarely happens inside a comfort zone, and the willingness to face challenges, uncertainty, and even failure has been a driving force throughout her career.
She has embraced the mindset of "embrace the suck"—understanding that meaningful growth often comes from tackling difficult projects, having tough conversations, learning new skills, or stepping into unfamiliar roles. Rather than avoiding discomfort, she views it as an opportunity to build resilience, confidence, and capability.
This philosophy has guided her through transitions across human resources, insurance operations, program management, product development, project management, and quality assurance leadership. Each role required her to stretch beyond what was comfortable, take on new challenges, and continue learning.
She believes that success is not determined by avoiding fear or anxiety, but by taking action despite them. By consistently challenging herself, maintaining a growth mindset, and remaining committed to continuous improvement, she has developed the leadership, operational expertise, and problem-solving skills that have contributed to her success.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Her advice to young women entering the insurance industry is to be confident in their abilities, remain curious, and never stop learning. Insurance offers an incredible range of career opportunities, and success often comes to those who are willing to ask questions, embrace challenges, and continuously expand their knowledge and skills.
She encourages young professionals to seek out mentors, build strong relationships, and take advantage of opportunities that push them beyond their comfort zones. Some of the most important career growth happens when taking on assignments that feel intimidating or uncertain. One of the best pieces of advice she has followed is to do one thing every day that causes anxiety or feels a little scary. Growth happens when people are willing to face fear, embrace discomfort, and keep moving forward anyway.
Most importantly, she advises women not to make themselves small to make someone else feel bigger. Their ideas, perspectives, expertise, and accomplishments deserve to be heard and recognized. There is a difference between humility and minimizing one's value. She encourages women to speak up, advocate for themselves, take their seat at the table, and confidently pursue leadership opportunities.
Her philosophy is simple: embrace the suck, trust your abilities, and keep growing. The challenges that feel the hardest today often become the experiences that build resilience, confidence, and future success. By staying authentic, working hard, and believing in their own potential, young women can build rewarding careers and make a lasting impact in the insurance industry.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
She believes the insurance industry is at a pivotal moment where its greatest challenges are also creating its greatest opportunities. The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence, increasing regulatory complexity, evolving customer expectations, and workforce transformation are reshaping how insurance organizations operate. AI has the potential to significantly improve efficiency, decision-making, quality assurance, underwriting, claims handling, and customer service, allowing professionals to focus more on strategic thinking and relationship management rather than routine administrative tasks.
At the same time, organizations must ensure AI is implemented responsibly, with strong governance, transparency, compliance oversight, and human judgment remaining central to critical decisions. The most successful insurance professionals will be those who embrace technology while continuing to develop the leadership, analytical, and relationship-building skills that machines cannot replace.
Another significant challenge is talent development and retention. As experienced professionals retire and the industry competes for the next generation of talent, organizations have an opportunity to create more innovative, engaging, and technology-enabled workplaces that attract and develop future leaders.
On a personal level, she believes one of the greatest opportunities is learning to be happy within the position she is in while continuing to pursue growth. Early in a career, it is easy to focus solely on the next title, promotion, or achievement. Over time, she has learned that fulfillment comes from making a meaningful impact, developing others, continuously learning, and finding purpose in the work being done today—not just in the goals that lie ahead.
Her philosophy is to embrace change, stay curious, and remain grateful for the opportunity to contribute and grow. Whether through AI, process improvement, leadership development, or operational excellence, the future belongs to professionals who are willing to learn, adapt, and find satisfaction in both the journey and the destination.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to her, both professionally and personally, are faith, family, integrity, continuous growth, and resilience. These values guide how she leads, makes decisions, and measures success.
Faith serves as her highest priority. It shapes her perspective, grounds her during challenges, and reminds her to lead with humility, gratitude, and purpose. She believes that success is not solely measured by achievements, but by how she serves others and the positive impact she makes along the way.
Family is her next passion. No professional accomplishment is more important than the relationships she has built with those she loves. Family provides her greatest source of motivation, support, and perspective, helping her maintain balance and focus on what truly matters.
Professionally, she values integrity, accountability, and excellence. She believes in doing the right thing even when no one is watching, honoring commitments, and delivering high-quality results. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for being dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
She also places a high value on growth and courage. One of the best pieces of advice she has embraced is to do one thing every day that scares her. Whether learning a new skill, leading a difficult conversation, or taking on an unfamiliar challenge, she believes growth happens when people are willing to step outside their comfort zones and embrace the suck.
Perhaps one of her most important personal values is striving to be unoffendable. She has learned that taking offense too easily can become a barrier to growth, relationships, and leadership. Being unoffendable does not mean lacking convictions or allowing others to treat her poorly; rather, it means choosing grace over resentment, seeking understanding before judgment, and not allowing the actions or opinions of others to control her attitude or emotions.
Ultimately, she strives to live and lead with Faith first, Family always, a commitment to excellence, a mindset of continuous growth, and the resilience to face challenges with both confidence and grace.
