Mary M. Peterson is a dedicated healthcare professional with more than 15 years of experience in the medical field, building a career rooted in compassionate patient care and administrative excellence. She currently serves as a medical clerk in the orthopedic department at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, where she manages patient check-ins for x-rays and supports the daily flow of care for active-duty service members, military retirees, and their families. Her commitment to creating a welcoming and efficient experience reflects her belief that every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Before joining the Naval Hospital, Mary developed a diverse healthcare background through roles in phlebotomy, medical records, and clerical support within emergency and nursing departments. A certified nursing assistant, she spent more than a decade as a phlebotomist after receiving specialized blood collection training and also gained valuable experience in medical records processing and healthcare administration.
