About Meghan
Meghan Correia is a UX Designer based in Bellingham, Massachusetts, specializing in healthcare and life sciences with a focus on medical device design and human-centered digital experiences. Her career journey began with an interest in interior design, which evolved into graphic design and ultimately UX design after personal experiences navigating healthcare systems for family members inspired her to create solutions that improve the way people interact with technology and care environments.
Meghan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with a minor in Behavioral Psychology from Framingham State University and further developed her UX expertise through training at General Assembly. By combining her artistic background with insights from behavioral psychology, she brings a unique perspective to design, focusing on usability, accessibility, and meaningful user interactions. During her time at Dräger, she contributed to the design of a transport patient monitor that supports continuous patient data flow and is now utilized in hospitals worldwide. Her strengths include collaboration, team building, simplifying complex information, and creating intuitive experiences that support both healthcare professionals and patients.
Beyond her professional work, Meghan is committed to strengthening her community and advancing the design field. She serves as a Board Member of the Bellingham Business Association, supporting initiatives such as scholarships for local high school students and programs benefiting the Senior Center. She is also involved with the Information Design Foundation and continues to advocate for thoughtful, research-driven design that bridges technology, healthcare, and human needs.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to stubbornness, persistence, and the development of strong soft skills, particularly empathy and active listening. I have learned the importance of knowing when to step back, be quiet, and truly listen to what others are saying, as well as paying attention to what they may not be saying. By being genuinely interested in people and understanding their experiences, challenges, and perspectives, I am able to build stronger connections and provide meaningful support. I believe that doing this work well requires a true appreciation for interacting with people, celebrating their successes, understanding their struggles, and approaching every conversation with curiosity and compassion. Ultimately, my ability to listen, empathize, and connect with others has been a key factor in my professional success.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering my industry to remain open to the unexpected opportunities and changes that life brings. The path you begin with may not always be the path you ultimately follow, and that is perfectly okay. Your education, initial goals, and career plans are important, but they do not define your entire journey. Life has a way of introducing new experiences, challenges, and opportunities that can lead you toward your true purpose. Do not view changes in direction as failures; instead, embrace them as part of your growth and development. Stay curious, be willing to adapt, treat people with kindness and respect, and trust that your journey will guide you where you are meant to be. Ultimately, success comes from being a good person, making thoughtful choices, and remaining open to where life takes you.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I believe the biggest challenge and opportunity in the UX design field are two sides of the same coin: demonstrating the true value and impact of user experience design. UX designers often work behind the scenes, quietly creating solutions that make people’s lives easier, more efficient, and more enjoyable, yet the complexity and expertise required to achieve those results are often overlooked. Many people underestimate the field, assuming it is simply about visual design, without recognizing the research, problem-solving, collaboration, and countless iterations involved in creating intuitive experiences. The opportunity lies in continuing to educate others about the importance of design and showing how thoughtful user experiences can transform the way people interact with technology and the world around them. Whether through digital products, services, or creative solutions, designers help people see new possibilities and approach challenges in more meaningful ways. Ultimately, UX professionals are the quiet problem-solvers working behind the scenes to make things function better, and the greatest opportunity is continuing to highlight the value of that work.
