I attribute my success to my approach of experiencing what I design and taking calculated leaps of faith, guided by the belief that alignment is essential for achieving meaningful and sustainable success.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to remain open to unexpected opportunities and trust that the right path can emerge in surprising ways. My own career journey reflects this—beginning as a special education teacher before transitioning into aviation after a chance encounter with a pilot client who forwarded my resume to a recruiter at Continental Airlines.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to not be afraid and to go for it. Aviation offers a wide range of career opportunities beyond piloting, so I encourage exploring the field, doing thorough research, and pursuing the path that truly aligns with your passion and interests.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in my field right now lies in embracing innovation—particularly advancements in autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity—to better connect the world and enhance the overall passenger experience. At the same time, one of the greatest challenges is preparing for the unexpected by building resilient systems and strengthening training across airport operations to ensure safety, reliability, and continuity in an increasingly complex environment.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are authenticity and kindness. I strive to show up as my true self in every setting and to lead with empathy, respect, and genuine care for others in all my interactions.
