About Melissa

Melissa Benjamin is a highly accomplished and driven serial entrepreneur with a diverse professional background spanning real estate, sales, financial services, media, and business operations. She currently serves as a Realtor with the Dwight Price Group, where she has quickly distinguished herself through strong performance, client-focused service, and a results-oriented approach. In her first year in real estate, she successfully closed 14 transactions totaling approximately $4.5 million, demonstrating both her market knowledge and ability to execute effectively in a competitive industry. In addition to her sales responsibilities, she also supports broker front office operations, contributing to smooth transaction coordination and high-level client service.

Beyond her role with the Dwight Price Group, Melissa is actively engaged in multiple entrepreneurial ventures that reflect her versatility and business acumen. She owns and operates a staging business that enhances property presentation and marketability, and she manages Benjamin Asset Management LLC, which focuses on rental property oversight, marketing, and investment support services. Her ability to successfully oversee multiple businesses simultaneously highlights her organizational strength, strategic thinking, and commitment to delivering value across all areas of her work.

Melissa’s professional foundation is built on a strong and diverse career history that includes roles with Delta Air Lines as a conflict resolution officer, Regions Bank in financial services, and Channel 6 ABC as a top-performing Nexstar agent. These experiences strengthened her expertise in communication, client relations, problem-solving, and high-pressure decision-making. Combined with her entrepreneurial drive and real estate success, she continues to build a career defined by resilience, leadership, and consistent performance across every endeavor she pursues.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Melissa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to tremendous drive and a strong entrepreneurial mindset, consistently pushing myself to take initiative, identify opportunities, and turn ideas into action. As a serial entrepreneur, I have learned to embrace challenges, adapt quickly to change, and remain resilient in the face of setbacks. This combination of persistence, curiosity, and a willingness to take calculated risks has been central to my ability to grow, innovate, and achieve sustained success across my endeavors.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is simple but powerful: listen just listen. Taking the time to truly hear others without immediately responding or forming assumptions has been instrumental in building stronger relationships, understanding different perspectives, and making more informed decisions. This approach has helped me grow as a leader and collaborator, allowing me to learn continuously and respond with greater clarity, empathy, and effectiveness in both professional and personal settings.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to be competent above all else. Build a strong foundation of skills, stay committed to continuous learning, and take pride in doing your work thoroughly and accurately. Competence builds credibility, and credibility opens doors to greater opportunities, leadership, and long-term success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the field right now is the surplus of agents, which has created increased competition and made differentiation more important than ever. With so many professionals offering similar services, success increasingly depends on building a strong personal brand, delivering exceptional client experiences, and maintaining deep market knowledge. At the same time, this environment presents opportunities for those who are highly skilled, adaptable, and consistent, as clients are more selective and gravitate toward agents who demonstrate competence, trustworthiness, and measurable results.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values in my work and personal life are sticking it out and believing in myself, especially during challenging moments. I place a strong emphasis on perseverance, resilience, and maintaining confidence even when outcomes are uncertain or progress feels slow. These values keep me focused, grounded, and committed to long-term growth and success.
