Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is not to take things personally. I’ve found that showing respect to colleagues is key—it often encourages that respect in return, especially when interacting with other women. While some colleagues may occasionally make insensitive or offhand comments, I’ve learned it’s important not to be easily offended and to focus on building strong, professional relationships.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life include mentorship, inclusivity, and knowledge-sharing. Throughout my career in a male-dominated field, I’ve learned from a wide range of individuals and consider everyone a mentor in some way. I’m passionate about helping younger generations—particularly women—enter and succeed in the industry by sharing what I’ve learned. I also believe strongly in bringing diverse perspectives to transportation safety and encouraging more women to pursue careers in this critical field.
