Her Story
About Michaela
Michaela Emerich serves as Brand Marketing Communications Manager at Ariston Group, a role she has held for a little over two years, where she leads brand and product marketing initiatives across large-scale projects. With roughly eight years of experience in the HVAC industry, Emerich has built a career defined by adaptability, moving from a creative foundation into strategic marketing leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Rhode Island College, earned in 2015, which continues to inform the visual and storytelling sensibility she brings to her marketing work today. Her professional journey began at an architecture firm, where she took on office management duties while also contributing to marketing efforts, an early blend of operations and creativity that would come to define her career. She went on to join Taco Comfort Solutions, first as a graphic designer and later stepping into a marketing specialist role centered on product marketing and product launches. That progression from design into strategic marketing ultimately led her to Ariston Group, where she now oversees campaign planning, marketing collateral development, and multi-product initiatives. Beyond her professional achievements, Emerich credits her success to curiosity and the strong, collaborative relationships she has cultivated across departments, with vendors, and with customers. She is a vocal advocate for embracing discomfort as a path to growth, encouraging young women entering the industry to stay curious and step outside their comfort zones. Outside of work, she volunteers occasionally with the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation and places deep importance on balance, staying present with her young daughter and family while continuing to grow in her career.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Michaela
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my curiosity and the relationships I've built along the way. I take pride in being able to work collaboratively with everyone I interact with, whether they're colleagues in different departments, external vendors, or customers. My career path hasn't been a straight line — I graduated with a degree in graphic design and now find myself doing marketing-related work, and I think that willingness to grow into new areas has been key.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I've received is to always be prepared and to ask questions. I never want to walk into a meeting unprepared, and I've learned that asking clarifying questions shows engagement and genuine curiosity. I used to be hesitant to ask questions, but now I embrace it fully, especially when navigating technical engineering topics within the HVAC industry.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I'd tell them to stay curious and to step outside their comfort zone. My entire career has been shaped by taking advantage of opportunities that scared me at first, and those have consistently turned out to be my most rewarding experiences.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI has become a significant part of our day-to-day work, and I believe companies need to understand how it can be used as a resource to support employees rather than replace them. In marketing especially, we need to preserve the human touch and emotion in our design, messaging, and copy. I see AI as a tool to use as a resource, not as the sole source of content — we still need to expand on it and humanize it.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Balance is what matters most to me. I have a young daughter, and being present with her means everything to me. I want her to see the value of hard work, but I also want her to know that I maintain balance and show up for her. Being recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer — and now being cancer-free — was a real wake-up call that pushed me to prioritize balance and appreciate the time I have with my family and husband.
