Her Story
About Michelle
I have 20 years of experience in sales and 10 years in marketing. My main area of expertise is data entry, and I currently work as a data entry clerk and brand sales representative for Leaf Filter. In my role, I handle customer information and input it into the system using Okta, which is a really versatile platform for business professionals - it's really helpful and accurate. Before this, I worked as a data entry clerk and direct sales representative for Crossmark Incorporated from June 6, 2013 to June 7, 2023, where I received all my training through onboarding on-site in sales and marketing. My most notable professional achievement was accumulating more raw leads than anybody nationwide in my retail marketer position. I did this just by using logic and making sure that my customers are satisfied every single time, being truthful and keeping that reputation. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my work, and I value morals, intellect, professionalism, and being articulate and spot on without any flaws.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Michelle
01What do you attribute your success to?
I have a really strong faith in God. I just really rely on Him for everything. That's what I attribute my success to - my faith and relying on God in all aspects of my work and life.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Your life is what you make it. This is a quote I wrote down and it's the best career advice I've received - that your life is truly what you make of it, and you have the power to shape your own path.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say put your best foot forward and don't give up. When you feel like you have enough, go to your Bible - your Bible's your roadmap. I would also say to stay humble and never be arrogant. These values will guide you through the challenges in this field and help you maintain the right perspective in your career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in sales right this second is that the economy is just not doing very well, unfortunately. As for opportunities, I would say it's about keeping that positive mindset. It's easier to have a negative correlation than it would be to stay positive, so maintaining positivity in the face of economic challenges is both an opportunity and something we need to focus on.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are morals, intellect, professionalism, and being articulate - being spot on without any flaws. I'm pretty much a perfectionist when it comes to my work. I also believe strongly in staying humble and never being arrogant, and maintaining a strong faith in God, which I rely on for everything in my work and personal life.
