Her Interview

Ten minutes with Rebecca

01What do you attribute your success to?

Having the motivation to continue on in adversity and push for a better life for myself. I never give up because that’s too easy. Life, however, is far from being easy. We each have our own burdens to carry, but there’s a reason for everything.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never settle. If you’re unhappy where you are, it’s time to move on.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Trust and depend on yourself and no one else. We all need help, but as women, we need to realize that we can do anything that we put our minds to and it can be done with or without support from someone else.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The competition is fierce, so standing out from the crowd of amazing authors is difficult. However, I have found most of my encouragement from other authors. Also, books are being banned and people prefer to play on their phones rather than read a good book.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity and truth are most important to me. Life is too short for games.
