Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being a hard worker and intentionally building a life that I love. I focus on putting consistent effort into everything I do while aligning my work and personal life with my values and passions.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Whatever you do, do it the best you can. If you make coffee, you make the best darn cup of coffee out there.

You will absolutely have bad days. You can't unpack there and remain forever. You have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep moving.

Always double check that you are on 'mute' before you say anything negative when in a meeting.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The disparity between women and men in the workforce has improved, but it certainly is not where we need it to be. So, I say to you: never shy away from jobs that may have typically belonged to men. You may find yourself as the only woman in a meeting full of men, so you may have to stand taller, speak more assertively, and never let anyone speak over you. Show them the skills you have, the knowledge you possess, and the value you bring. Even if it takes a neon sign, don't let them forget.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The rapid evolution of AI. The way news outlets talk about AI, it sounds like some software you download to your computer to do incredible things. It's a little more complicated than that. I think it is important to understand more about what companies want AI to do and ponder if this new concept is being used appropriately. As Ben Parker (Peter's uncle) said "with great power comes great responsibility."

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are kindness and empathy. I strive to treat others with respect, understanding, and compassion, and I believe that fostering these values creates stronger relationships and a more positive environment.
