Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to persistence, faith in God, and a commitment to lifelong learning and gratitude. I do not give up easily and believe my gifts, including my ability to communicate and connect with others, are God-given and meant to serve others. My journey has been shaped by overcoming a severe, long-term illness that led me to explore holistic and functional approaches to healing in the late 1990s, ultimately inspiring my career in nutrition and wellness. Since then, I have dedicated my work to functional health, gut microbiome support, and mind-body healing, integrating both professional training and personal experience to help others achieve physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to follow my dreams and believe in myself. I believe that God places purpose and vision within each of us for a reason, and it is our responsibility to pursue that calling with confidence and faith. Staying true to my purpose, regardless of outside opinions, has guided my decisions and helped me remain focused, resilient, and aligned with the work I am meant to do.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field include increasing exposure to environmental toxins such as pesticides, GMOs, and mold, as well as a healthcare system that often focuses on managing symptoms rather than addressing the root causes of illness. These factors can make it difficult for individuals to receive comprehensive, whole-person care. However, there are also significant opportunities, including the rapid growth of gut microbiome research, the rising interest in functional and integrative health approaches, and the expanding platforms for education and public speaking. These advancements are creating greater awareness and opening the door for more personalized, preventative, and holistic healing methods.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are faith, purpose, integrity, and holistic well-being. I believe in staying grounded spiritually, regularly reflecting and staying connected to God as a source of guidance in both life and decision-making. I also value health and balance, which I practice through consistent physical activity, time outdoors, and wellness practices that support the body and mind. Professionally, I am deeply committed to service, education, and helping others heal at the root cause level, rather than just addressing symptoms. I am also passionate about environmental responsibility and protecting future generations through cleaner food systems and reduced exposure to toxins. Overall, I strive to live in alignment with purpose, stewardship, and lifelong learning while helping others do the same.
