Nancy Major, MD, ACC
Dr. Nancy Major, MD, ACC, is the founder and certified life coach of You, Only Better and a Sr. Adjunct Professor with over 30 years of experience as a musculoskeletal radiologist. She began her distinguished career as a tenured faculty member at Duke University, holding appointments in both Radiology and Orthopedic Surgery. During her tenure, Dr. Major played a pivotal role in medical student education, teaching anatomy, mentoring research projects, and instructing undergraduate courses through the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology. Her dedication to teaching and mentorship earned her multiple recognitions from both the medical and undergraduate communities. She subsequently served as Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and consulted for orthopedic groups and imaging centers, demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing patient care and musculoskeletal medicine.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Major specializes in guiding individuals through major life transitions, including high school and college students, graduate students, professionals, and professional athletes. Through You, Only Better, she assists students nationwide with medical school applications, personal statement reviews, career planning, and goal setting. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes personalized guidance, helping clients define and achieve their professional and personal aspirations with clarity and confidence.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Major is deeply committed to giving back to the community and maintaining a balanced life. She serves as a board member for the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Stuart Scott “Boo-Yah” Foundation, supporting initiatives that advance cancer research and improve access to care. In her personal time, she enjoys spending quality moments with her husband, writing, hiking, golfing, and playing platform tennis. Dr. Major currently holds an appointment as Sr. Adjunct Professor at the University of Utah and continues to contribute to both medicine and mentorship through her clinical, academic, and coaching work.

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life center around balance, purpose, and giving back. I deeply enjoy spending time outdoors, whether hiking or playing golf, as it allows me to recharge and stay grounded. Equally, I am committed to making a positive impact through philanthropy, supporting causes such as the Board V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Stuart Scott “Boo-Yah” Foundation, which reflect my dedication to advancing health, wellness, and community well-being.
